CMC is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, with a research and development department working on the engineering of CMC scale-auto products. Since CMC established its own factory in 1998, its engineers and employees have integrated German precision and Chinese craftsmanship into a harmonious synthesis. CMC miniature cars, whether in the scale of 1:12, 1:18, or 1:24, or 1:43, are hand-assembled from an average of over twelve hundred individual parts. With more recent items, this number has increased to 1,888 parts in the Mercedes SSKL (M-055) and to over 3,000 parts in the Ferrari Race Car Transporter (M-084).

CMC is also committed to using the right materials of the finest quality. Parts are mostly made of stainless steel, copper, and aluminium in addition to zinc alloy, and the miniature body is covered in an authentic world-class paint. Likewise, seats are upholstered with genuine leather or textile, and the trunk is nicely carpeted if the original is so decked out.
